Sunny Isle Extra Dark Jamaican Black Castor Oil 8oz is a traditionally made, richer Jamaican black castor oil designed to deeply condition hair, soothe dry scalp, and moisturize skin.
This Extra Dark formula is produced by roasting Jamaican castor seeds longer, manually grounding and boiling them to yield a darker, thicker oil with a higher ash content than lighter castor oils. Bottled in the USA and made using time-honored methods, the oil arrives as a viscous, dark brown liquid rich in vitamin E and fatty acids. It’s presented as an all-purpose beauty oil for textured hair, protective styles, and dry skin care routines without synthetic additives.
Apply a small amount directly to the scalp for massages, use as a hot oil treatment, or smooth through lengths to help seal moisture. Focus on areas of breakage or dryness and work from roots to ends for even coverage.
Use sparingly on thinning edges, eyebrows, or eyelashes to condition and smooth hairs. Always use a clean applicator and avoid contact with eyes; consistent, gentle application can enhance the appearance of well-conditioned strands.
The oil can be used to soften rough patches, lock in moisture, and soothe dry areas. It’s often applied to cuticles, elbows, knees, or as a body oil, working best when pressed onto slightly damp skin to seal hydration.
“Extra Dark” refers to the extended roasting of Jamaican castor seeds and the resulting higher ash content, producing a thicker, darker oil. This traditional process yields a denser texture and a deeper color compared with lighter castor oils.
Who is this for: Sunny Isle Extra Dark Jamaican Black Castor Oil 8oz is aimed at people with dry, textured, curly, coily, or chemically treated hair who need a heavier conditioning oil to help manage breakage and moisture retention. It also suits anyone looking for a multipurpose natural oil for targeted skin conditioning, cuticle care, or to support grooming of edges, brows, and lashes. If you prefer lightweight oils or are highly sensitive to richly processed oils, consider testing a small area first or choosing a lighter castor oil alternative.
