Tammy Taylor 100 grit acrylic nail files are coarse emery boards designed to shape and shorten acrylic nails, tips, and extensions quickly while resisting wear.
Engineered for nail technicians and serious DIYers, these 100 grit files give controlled removal and shaping power for acrylic systems. The abrasive surface was selected to tackle hardened acrylic and sculpted tips without tearing, while the sturdy core provides a stable platform for accurate filing. Use them alongside finer grits for a smooth, professional finish.
100 grit is a coarse grade that removes material rapidly, making it ideal for shortening and shaping acrylic overlays, hard gel, and plastic tips. The aggressive abrasive reduces bulk efficiently but should be followed by finer sanding to refine edges and prevent roughness.
Because 100 grit is coarse, it’s not recommended for healthy natural nails or delicate cuticle areas. For natural nails and toe care, choose a finer grit (180 or higher) to avoid thinning or damage; reserve 100 grit for artificial systems and thick enhancements.
Work with controlled, even strokes and hold the file at a slight angle to guide shape without over-filing one area. Move from coarse to medium and then fine grits to remove bulk and then refine the surface before buffing or applying topcoat.
These files are built for repeated professional use: the abrasive is bonded to a rigid core that resists peeling and wear. They can be disposed of after client use in salons or kept for personal use if cleaned and not contaminated; follow salon sanitation rules for reusable tools.
Who is this for? Tammy Taylor 100 grit acrylic nail files suit professional nail technicians and experienced home users who work with acrylics, hard gels, or thick nail tips and need a reliable, coarse tool for rapid material removal. If you’re building shapes, shortening extensions, or prepping heavy overlays for refinement, these files provide the bite and durability required. For natural nail maintenance or final smoothing, use them in a grit progression alongside finer files to preserve nail integrity.
Q: Is 100 grit safe for natural nails?
A: Not usually—100 grit is too coarse for healthy natural nails; use 180+ grit for natural nail shaping.
Q: Can these files be reused in a salon?
A: Yes if dedicated to a single client and cleaned per sanitation rules; many salons treat them as disposable.
